Fed’s Powell’s prepared testimony today reiterated that the central bank is keeping their guard up against inflation and the same hymn we’ve heard from other Fed speakers – higher for longer.

The JOLTS report released this morning shows it is still not a game changer for the economic policies. It is a wait-and-see JOLTS with employees staying put and employers pausing growth plans.

I'm learning about the Fed chair lingo and its effect on the financial markets(mainly equities), so what happens, for example, if he were to say today at the committee presentation, "We are cutting the fed rate by 25 bps!" would that move the equities market right away in today's trading session or are the anticipated cuts already been priced into the financial markets so it wouldn't matter if he says it? I'm trying to understand that everybody expects the Fed rate to be cut this year, but the Fed chair has yet to say when. Can you please elaborate more in your commentary about his impact on the financial markets? Thanks

Charles, you ask the following question on your show: what does a pullback look like in this market? What does that look like? We haven’t even been able to get a 2% move down. How does an investor get on this runaway train? Jump and pray! Does this market ever get a good correction? What say you?

The optimal word is investor. That implies buy and hold. If there companies you want to own that should take precedence over concerns with a near term top. That being said if you think it's hard chasing try buying a market moving lower each day. One technique you can use is to scale into the trade. Buy in one third tranches. But even that can too cute. I prefer to buy and hold and take profits into strength so I also have cash (insurance)
